A huge cargo container ship got stuck in Egypt's Suez Canal
A huge cargo container ship got stuck in Egypt's Suez Canal on Tuesday, causing a major setback. According to officials, if the ship is not taken out as soon as possible, it could cause a major obstruction on the road. The Suez Canal, which connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, makes it easier to travel from Asia to Europe. This eliminates the need to hit the entire island. Hundreds of crores of rupees are being lost due to shipwreck.
The Ever Given also carries the flag of the United States, Panama. This ship is used for trade in Asia and Europe. This shipwreck can cause changes in many essential commodities and prices around the world. The grandeur of this container ship cannot even be estimated. The ship is about 400 meters long and weighs 200,000 metric tons. An excavator was installed while removing the ship. Taiwanese shipping company called Evergreen Marine Corps is operating this ship. It is believed that due to reduced visibility, the ship ran aground on the banks of the Suez Canal. This blocked almost the entire canal.
Today is the fifth day of a giant ship stranded in Egypt's Suez Canal in Egypt. Authorities are continuing efforts to clear the waterway to remove the ship. The shipwreck is affecting global transport and trade, with traffic on the Suez Canal blocked. The head of the Suez Canal Authority said the reason the ship 'Ever Given' got stuck in the canal on Tuesday was not just the speed of the wind.
Lt. General Osama Rabei said on Saturday, "The case is under investigation. A Panama-flagged ship carrying cargo between Asia and Europe capsized in the Swiss canal on Tuesday.
A Portuguese company is trying to evacuate the ship with the help of high waves and boats. We hope that after clearing the surrounding mud, the ship can be taken out without removing the cargo from the ship. But at the moment, it is a difficult situation and it is an unfortunate incident. It is impossible to imagine how long this ship will last.
The company's chairman said all 25 crew members on board the Suez Canal were safe and all of them were from India. The ship's crew is said to be from India. As many as 16 oil tankers bound for India and China have been stranded due to the shipwreck.
